Frequently Asked

Nope! We have members who rent kayaks on trips and others who own their own. Many local outfitters near our paddle spots offer rentals. We’ll always let you know rental options when planning a trip.
Absolutely not! We welcome complete beginners. Many of our members had never touched a paddle when they joined. We group trips by skill level so beginners are never in over their heads.
We ask for a small annual dues contribution to cover club organization costs, event materials, and gear maintenance. Details are shared during the onboarding process. It’s very affordable!
We organize trips at least twice a month throughout paddling season (spring through fall), plus special events and meetups. In winter we do social events and planning meetups to keep the Posse connected.
All over! Favorites include the Illinois River, Lake Eufaula, Glover River, Lake Thunderbird, the Deep Fork River, and Beavers Bend State Park. We’re always scouting new spots too.
Yes! The Kayak Posse is a ladies-only club, created specifically to give women a safe, empowering, and judgment-free space on the water. We’re proudly women-only and love our community for it.
